Wanneer ik iets nieuws koop voor de computer, dan kan ik eindeloos de verpakking met de nodige handleidingen bewaren. Daarvoor heb ik tegen de wand van mijn hobbykamer een aantal planken gemonteerd waarop ik de lege dozen plaats om er vervolgens nooit meer iets mee te doen. Een heel enkele keer komt het wel eens voor dat er iets kapot gaat in de computer en dan is het wel handig als je alle doosjes, inclusief plastic zakjes, nog hebt om het artikel terug te sturen voor vervanging. Dat gaat natuurlijk alleen op als het binnen de garantietermijn valt.
When I buy something new for the computer, then I keep infinitely the packing with the necessary guides. For that purpose I assembled a number of shelves against the wall of my hobby room. There I keep all the empty boxes and then do not do anything with them, however, sometimes when something goes wrong in the computer and a particular part does not work any longer, then it is handy to have all the boxes, including small plastic pockets to return the article for replacement. That of course is relevant when it is within the guarantee.
Maar na vele jaren blijkt dat die dozen en andere verpakkingsmaterialen rommel is geworden en alleen maar ruimte in beslag neemt. Het betreffende onderdeel is vaak al lang weggeooid, weggeven of compleet met een oude computer naar de gemeentelijke stortplaats gebracht. De techniek gaat zo snel.... Je koopt iets nieuws en voordat het goed en wel aangesloten is, blijkt dat er alweer iets nieuws is uitgebracht, maar daar doe ik niet meer aan mee.
After many years it appears that those boxes and other packing materials have become garbage and are only space confiscating. The concerning component has been thrown away a long time ago, it was given away or completely destroyed together with an old computer and brought to the municipal dumping-ground. Technique goes fast nowadays .... You buy something new and before it is connected, it appears that something new has come into it's place. But I'll keep distance from that policy and do not participate in it.
De planken raken al aardig leeg, wat hier getoond wordt is nog maar een klein deel van wat er al is opgeruimd, maar er moet nog veel meer worden weggegooid. Geweldig hoor, al die ruimte die is vrijgekomen. Een goed begin op deze wondermooie maandag :-)
The shelves become already quite empty, what is shown here is still a small part of what has been cleared this morning, but there is much more to be thrown away. Great, all that space which has been released for the next generation of garbage. A good start on this wonder-beautiful Monday : -)
